Privacy Policy

Last updated: 01 November 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how PledgeUp (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects personal information on our website pledgeup.co.

This policy covers our marketing site and contact/waitlist forms only. The PledgeUp mobile app will have a separate, more detailed privacy policy before public launch.

1. Who we are

PledgeUp is an early-stage project based in Australia, focused on helping people run fitness and habit challenges with their friends and teams.

If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at:

2. What information we collect

On the landing page, we only collect information that you choose to give us or that is standard for websites:

  1. Information you provide directly

    • Name

    • Email address

    • Any message you send via our contact or waitlist forms

  2. Usage and analytics data

    • Basic device and browser information

    • Pages visited, time on page, clicks

    • This may be collected via standard analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) and cookies.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (e.g. health data) through the landing page forms. Please don’t include sensitive personal details in free-text messages.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Respond to your messages and questions

  • Send updates about PledgeUp if you join the waitlist or opt in to emails

  • Improve our website and understand which content is most useful

  • Keep our website secure and prevent abuse

We will only send marketing emails if you’ve given us permission (for example, by joining the waitlist). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in the email or by contacting us.

4. Legal basis (for EU/UK visitors)

For visitors in the European Union or United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under GDPR:

  • Consent – for sending you marketing emails or optional communications you sign up for.

  • Legitimate interests – for using basic analytics and running a secure website.

5. Cookies and tracking

We may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Remember your preferences (for example, if you closed a banner)

  • Measure traffic and usage patterns on our site

You can control cookies through your browser settings. If we add more advanced tracking (e.g. advertising pixels), we’ll update this policy and, if required, show a cookie banner.

6. How we share your information

We don’t sell your personal information.

We may share limited data with:

  • Service providers that help us run the site and send emails (for example, email newsletter tools, analytics providers, or hosting providers). They can only use your data to provide these services to us.

  • Legal / safety reasons if required by law, regulation, or to protect our rights or the rights of others.

Some of these providers may be located outside Australia, including in the United States, the EU or other regions. Where possible, we choose providers with reasonable privacy and security practices.

7. Data security & retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information. No system is 100% secure, but we aim to keep your data safe and limit access to people who need it.

We keep your information only for as long as needed to:

  • Respond to your enquiry

  • Maintain an active waitlist

  • Comply with legal or accounting obligations

If you request deletion of your information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it, unless we need to keep it for legal reasons.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under Australian law and, where applicable, GDPR), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate information

  • Ask us to delete your information

  • Opt out of marketing communications

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@pledgeup.co and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.

9. Third-party links

Our website may link to other sites (for example, social media, app stores, or articles). We’re not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We recommend you read their privacy policies separately.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as PledgeUp evolves. If we make major changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated
